What happened
Cycling star Remco Evenepoel celebrated his first-ever European road cycling championship title on Sunday in a photo finish. The Belgian lived up to his status as pre-race favourite and, despite a minor crash, beat Giulio Ciccone to celebrate victory in Slovenia, the home country of defending champion Tadej Pogačar.
