What happened
Use a one-millisecond timeout only for the get on a deleted key. Restore the original two-second budget before successful operations, preserving assertions and both TCP backends. Test plan: Source build and targeted lint pass. Both tests pass: baseline 4.102s versus 0.090s; three post-build repeats pass.
