Anthony Volpe rejoined the New York Yankees on Thursday when second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was placed on the 10-day injured list because of a sprained right thumb. Volpe, who lost his shortstop job in New York to rookie George Lombard Jr., was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before Thursday night's series finale against Colorado. Chisholm was placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to Wednesday.
